Theater Instituut Nederland (TIN) is the heart of the Dutch theatre and dance world. TIN supports the internationalization of Dutch theatre and dance and provides information and advice to foreign professionals wanting to know more about theatre and dance in the Netherlands.
This website provides overviews and information about the Dutch theatre field.
Programmes aimed at international cultural exchanges
TIN coordinates and implements various international programmes. These programmes aim to promote Dutch productions abroad, cultural exchanges and collaboration between Dutch and foreign theatre and dance makers and programmers. Recent examples include the Interactions SA-NL project in South Africa and the New Island Festival in New York. Reciprocity and artistic exchange rate highly on TIN’s agenda.
International Visitors Programme
TIN also organizes the International Visitors Programme. Every year, this programme gives some 45 foreign professionals the opportunity to visit the Netherlands and explore the world of Dutch theatre and dance.
Newsletter
TIN issues a bimonthly digital newsletter, the E-News Dutch Dance Drama to keep you up-to-date on the latest developments in the field of Dutch theatre and dance. TIN also answers individual questions about Dutch theatre and dance in the Netherlands and abroad. You can contact TIN by e-mail or telephone.
Publications
The Festival Flyer is a shortlist of the most important Dutch festivals featuring Dutch work. These festivals are all well worth visiting. The overview of Dutch theatres and festivals that programme foreign productions gives a summary of the Dutch podia that programme foreign productions.
Other TIN activities
TIN is an expertise centre. The knowledge and information stored can be consulted in the multimedia centre. TIN is also a central figure in debate, and organizes meetings to discuss developments within the sector.
